Volunteering in Cambodia benefits both the volunteer and the students, and it will be an unforgettable experience. Teaching English and helping in a school will not only give the Cambodian people opportunities that they may not have normally, but it will also give the volunteer a taste of Cambodian culture and Cambodian life.
The stay in Cambodia will be a great experience and challenge for the volunteer.
For all children, especially in the countryside, it is a great honor to host a foreign volunteer. The volunteer is warmly welcome and will be included in all daily activities of the organization and the staff.
This is a unique possibility to gain deep insight the Cambodian culture and its problems.
English language and basic computer skills proficiency is now a basic requirement to work in the industries in the town areas. But in Cambodia the opportunity to learn and study is not available for everybody. So as a result many people are jobless. As a volunteer in Cambodia, you will teach English and/or computer skills to support the poor people, mostly in schools, thus improving the employment prospects of these future generations.
Volunteer English teachers are a precious resource and always welcome. Usually they work along side the staff English teachers, sometimes monks, or even lead the classes in improving the pronunciation and conversational skills. You are most welcome to bring in your own ideas!
You will have a Country Coordinator who will supervise you throughout your stay. Furthermore you will have a mentor within your Host organization.
Program Information
Your Role in the Program
The Volunteer will work daily 5 to 9 hours. The local coordinators will prepare the lesson plan as soon as the Volunteer arrives in Phnom Penh. The school is open from 6:30 am until 8:00 pm. There is a break from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Depending on the volunteer's skills he/she can help with:
- Teaching English in the morning or in the afternoon for 3- 6 hours a day or longer
- Teaching computer skills (very basic) 2 hours a day
- Teaching economics (very basic, if possible)
- Preparing lesson plans (if possible)
- Helping with general work which comes up (Reception, translations)
- Preparing tests
- Implementation of new ideas and teaching methods (if possible)
Skills and Educational Requirements
There is no educational requirement for this project; anyone with a heart to help is welcome on this project! However proficiency in English is required. People should be patient,
committed and willing to learn.

The project is located in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia and Kampong Speu.

Airport Receive/ Transfer: Our representative will greet you at the airport and will transfer you to your accommodation.
Orientation: Orientation will be provided by our staff. We cover areas like, culture, greetings, locations, transportation etc.
Lodging:Volunteers will be staying at a host family or guest house accommodation.
Food: 2 Local meals will be provided in this project.
Insurance: All participants are covered for full comprehensive travel and medical insurance for their time of stay in our project.
In – Country travel assistance: If participants like to travel around, we provide with full support for bookings & arrangements to travel within Cambodia.
In-country support: 24 hours support provided by our local staff.
Pre-departure information: After we receive full and final payment all participants are provided by a pre-departure information booklet by e-mail which will have all vital information about your program.
