Volunteer work at an Orphanage in Ghana

Volunteer at an orphanage in Ghana working with Volunteering SolutionsVolunteering with children in an orphanage is the most rewarding experience for volunteers. Volunteers work alongside the existing staff to care for the children in orphanages. The work in a children’s home involves feeding, dressing and keeping the children active within the homes.

Volunteers will also be assisting local staff and caretakers in daily work to help them run the orphanage in a better way. You can also assist in the office of the orphanage if you think you can contribute to make them more organized and run in a more efficient manner. Volunteers can design teaching programs for the kids and help in improving their knowledge and understanding by teaching them in a play way method.

Volunteer tasks duties depend on the orphanage placement they work in as well as the skills of the individual volunteers.

Volunteers get to experience the local culture and the hospitality of the people of the Ghana, for which it is renowned all over the world. You can carry  different volunteer supplies with you which will be helpful for the orphanage where you will be volunteering.

Whichever orphanage and childcare placement you work in , you need to be ready for the challenge. As a volunteer you need to give special love, attention to the children and bring smile on their faces.

Many of the volunteers working in the Orphanage program, choose to combine it with the Teaching program wherein they can work in School project in the morning and work in the orphanage in the afternoon. This is also a great way to make a larger impact in the community.

Volunteering Solutions provides orphanage work placements in Tamale as well as in Mampong and Kumasi in the Ashanti region.
