Q.What are the project locations in India ?
Ans.Our volunteer programs are located in and around Delhi , Bangalore, Palampur/ Dharamshala in Himalayas and in Kolkata.

Q.People from which country can join the Volunteering Solutions program ?
Ans.We welcome people from any part of the world to join our program regardless of which country he or she may belong too.

Q.What will happen once I arrive in India ?
Ans.Our trained members of the staff would be there to receive you at the airport, holding placards, displaying your name. You’ll be picked up from the airport and taken by a car to your place of stay. Please do send us your arrival information well in advance so as to facilitate your airport pickup.
      
Q.How do I get to the program location ?
Ans.Your country coordinator will take you to your placement the first day and introduce you to everyone after giving you a basic orientation about the program/city/culture etc.

In subsequent days, you would need to commute between the placement and accomodation by public transportation.In some cases, the placement would be located at a walking distance from the place of stay.
      
Q.What kind of accommodation will be provided during my stay ?
Ans.Accomodation is either provided in host family or in volunteers home . Accommodation is provided on shared basis with other volunteers. Sometimes the accommodation is provided by the organization where you’ll work.All volunteers will be provided with the details of the accommodation in the Placement Information sheet after the confirmation in the project.
      
Q.What will be the food arrangement ?
Ans.You will get freshly cooked food 2/3 times a day depending on your program.Traditional Indian food will be provided to volunteers.
      
Q.Do you make provision for vegetarians ?
Ans.Yes, provisions for vegetarians can be made easily. Please make sure to inform the VS Admin team in advance about your requirements.
      
Q.What is the age range to volunteer ?
Ans.Volunteers must be 17 years or older at the beginning of the program. There is no upper age limit. You must be fit to travel and work.
      
Q.Can couples or families join the volunteer program ?
Ans.Yes, couples and families are welcome to join our programs. You can also join the programs in groups along with friends or colleagues.

We also offer special discounts for group bookings.

Q.Which items should I bring along for my trip ?
Ans.You may bring personal medicines, a sleeping bag(during winters), toilet paper, long sleeved cotton shirts & trousers, a sweater or a light jacket (only during winters). Please don’t forget to carry sun screen cream, mosquito repellent lotion or spray.
      
Q.Are there more expenses once I arrive in lndia ?
Ans.Your program fee covers you for airport pickup, food , accommodation and travel & medical insurance. You will need to cover yourself for your personal expenses, such as traveling, telephone, internet, shopping, sightseeing etc. Traveling within India is cheap; however, you should carry at least $50 per week for yourself.
      
Q.Are there ATM’s in India ?
Ans.There are plenty of ATM's available in all the project locations. Most of the ATM"s accept Visa or Mastercard. 

Q.Where do I obtain visa for my trip ?
Ans.You need to get the visa of the country of your destination from your home country. For that purpose you have to apply to their consulate/high commission for a tourist visa.
    
Q.What should I do incase of an emergency during my trip ?
Ans.You’ll be provided with a pre-departure manual after you’ve signed up with us for our program. It’ll have the entire phone no’s and addresses of our country co-ordinators whom you may contact in case of any emergency.
    
Q.Do I need any vaccinations before I leave for my trip ?
Ans.We recommend you to speak to your doctor before coming. A list of vaccinations would be provided in the Pre departure kit provided to volunteers before thier departure.

Q.Will I have access to e-mail, telephone etc ?
Ans.You’ll have easy access to e-mail, telephone etc. Public telephone booths & cyber cafes are located practically everywhere. You can choose to carry your mobile phone if you want better connectivity with people back home.
    
Q.Will I have time for sight seeing & in-country travel ?
Ans.Everyday after the work is over you’ll have the evenings to yourself. There will be plenty of time to explore the city of your placement. You can utilize weekends for in-country travel.
