Volunteering in Bangalore - India Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka state in India and is also called the Garden city of India. It has emerged as a major IT center and is also nicknamed as the Silicon Valley of India. The city has plenty to offer for tourists such as forts, temples and gardens. Located at an altitude of 920m from the sea level, Bangalore has a moderate and pleasant climate throughout the year. During summer the temperature reaches a maximum of 27 Celsius. Winters are colder when temperature goes down to 20 degrees Celsius. The city is well connected by rest of the country through air, road and rail network. Bangalore is served by an International airport and has regular flights to and from Dubai, London, Paris, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
