Your Role in the Program.
Volunteers teach in
shelter homes, schools and orphanages to children aged 4-14 yrs old. Volunteers
teach English, Mathematics and Science subjects depending on their ability.
Skills and Educational Requirements.
There is no educational requirement for this project; anyone with a heart to help is welcome on this project! However proficiency in English is required. People should be patient,
committed and willing to learn.
Project Location.
Volunteers have the option to choose their locations. The project is located in New Delhi the capital of India, Jaipur, Bangalore,
Palampur /
Dharamshala and soon in Leh, Ladakh and Sikkim and Kolkata in east India.
Language & Orientation Week in Delhi.
You have the option to start your volunteering with a week long language & culture orientation week in New Delhi. The week aims to provide important Language instructions, safety tips, and cultural knowledge before volunteers start their work. Volunteers would also be give a 2 day tour around Delhi to see the beautiful sights it has to offer.
What we provide
Airport Receive/ Transfer: Our representative will greet you at the airport and will transfer you to your hotel/placement/home stay.
Orientation: A half day orientation will be provided by our staff. We cover areas like, culture, greetings, locations, transportation etc. Each participant will be provided with a local Map of the city or Start your volunteering experience by taking the 1 week language & culture orientation week in Delhi
Lodging: Almost all placements have residential accommodation arrangements, however if that is not available volunteers will be staying with a local welcoming and educated family.
Food: 2 or 3 Indian meals will be provided in this project depending on accommodation type.
Insurance: All participants are covered for full comprehensive travel and medical insurance for their time of stay in our project.
In – Country travel assistance: If participants like to travel around, we provide with full support for bookings & arrangements to travel with India or Nepal.
In-country support: 24 hours support provided by our local staff.
Pre-departure information: After we receive full and final payment all participants are provided by a pre-departure information booklet by e-mail which will have all vital information about your program. |

Arrival Date - Arrive 1 day prior to your start date and Volunteering Solutions would arrange pickup and accommodation.
Working Hours - 25-30 hours per week
Food Type - Vegetarian
Accommodation Type - Host Family or On-site accommodation. Volunteers share room with fellow volunteers.
Local Transport - Volunteering Solutions does not provide any local transport. All volunteers usual use auto-rickshaws which are safe and cheap mode of
transport in India.

Start on any date! Volunteering Solutions provides complete flexibility and you can start on any date on the year to join our programs. (Unless you join the Language and Culture week in Delhi, which starts 1st, 2nd and 3rd Monday of every month throughout the year, followed by volunteer program of your choice in India.)

Application Deposit - $200 - An application deposit is required along with the application to process your application. This is not a seperate fee but is part of your total fee.

Who will pick me up from the airport? |
Ans. |
Our trained members of the staff would be there to receive you at the airport, holding placards, displaying your name. You’ll be picked up from the airport and taken by a car to your place of stay. Please do send us your arrival information well in advance so as to facilitate your airport pickup. |

What kind of accommodation will be provided during my stay? |
Ans. |
You’ll get very comfortable and clean accommodation with a very friendly, educated and welcoming host family. You may sometimes share your room with another volunteer & will have all the basic modern amenities. Sometimes the accommodation is provided by the organization where you’ll work. Our host families have experience of giving comfortable stay to international volunteers. |

Which items should I bring along for my trip? |
Ans. |
You may bring personal medicines, a sleeping bag, toilet paper, long sleeved cotton shirts & trousers, a sweater or a light jacket (only during winters). Please don’t forget to carry sun screen cream, mosquito repellent lotion or spray. |

Is there any age limit to join the program? |
Ans. |
No, there is no age limit. However, you should be fit to travel and work. We accept anyone above the age of 16 yrs to join our program. |

Can I bring along children with me? |

Yes, you can, provided they are minimum 12 yrs old. You’ll be paying for their food and accommodation separate to your program fee. |

Can I come with a friend, my family or in a group? |

Yes, at Volunteering Solutions you are welcome to join with a friend, family or in a group. We offer special discounted fee for family and group bookings. |

Where do I obtain visa for my trip? |
Ans. |
You need to get the visa of the country of your destination from your home country. For that purpose you have to apply to their consulate/high commission for a tourist visa. ‘Visa on arrival’ is currently only available in Nepal. |

What should I do incase of an emergency during my trip? |

You’ll be provided with a pre-departure manual after you’ve signed up with us for our program. It’ll have the entire phone no’s and addresses of our country co-ordinators whom you may contact in case of any emergency. |

Do I need any vaccinations before I leave for my trip? |

Yes, you must consult a travel doctor from your country well in advance and get the needful done well before your arrival date. We have put down a list of immunizations required by most participants, however it is best to check with your doctor.

You’ll have easy access to e-mail, telephone etc. at your placement or it will be there in close vicinity. Public telephone booths & cyber cafes are located practically everywhere. You can choose to carry your mobile phone if you want better connectivity with people back home. |

Do I need to carry cash for my personal expenses or ATM’s are available? |

You can carry cash enough for your personal expenses for a fortnight ($100 approx). However, ATM’s are available in plenty. |

Everyday after the work is over you’ll have the evenings to yourself. There will be plenty of time to explore the city of your placement. You can utilize weekends for in-country travel.
