Summer Volunteer Travel during summer 2009 - 2010 (1st July/ 1st August) and immerse in the cultural journey in the heart of cultural Nepal in the capital of Kathmandu. The journey will start in Kathmandu with a week long cultural orientation week followed by volunteering work with orphan children for 2 weeks. You get to work with local people, helping them hand to hand for the upliftment of children of the downtrodden society. You would work 5 days a week volunteering at an orphanage to help the children in need.
Volunteering Solutions Summer 2009/2010 Kathmandu - Nepal program will provide you with a great cultural and volunteering experience of a lifetime. After learning language, culture and volunteering in Kathmandu with orphan children for 2 weeks you would head out for a 1 week tour around the Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan.

Program Details & Itinerary
DAY 1: (Arrival in Delhi & welcome)
Arrival at Kathmandu airport.
Pickup and transfer to volunteer’s home.
17:00 Pickup from volunteer’s home
17:30 Assemble in Office/House
17:30 – 18:30 Chai and welcome at office (group introduction, discussion of orientation and misc. matter)
18:30 Transfer to volunteer’s home
Day 9 - 22: Volunteer at an orphanage for 2 weeks. You can render invaluable help by doing volunteer work at an orphanage in Nepal, giving them love and affection, teaching them basic conversational English, helping them in their school subjects, guiding them about personal hygiene and sanitation, taking them out on small excursions and engaging them in extra – curricular activities.
It would be an unforgettable and soul enriching experience for you which may compel you to return again and again to these orphans.
Day 23 - 28: Travel to Pokhara and Chitwan National Park
- Sightseeing of ‘sister' cities of Kathmandu valley once separate Kingdoms, with different languages and cultures - Patan & Bhaktapur
- A one hour mountain flight for a panoramic view of the Himalayas.
- Visit Nagarkot or Dhulikhel for fantastic mountain views from sunrise to sunset.
- Return to Kathmandu.
- Visit Paradise Town Pokhara for two days sightseeing.
- Visit Chitwan National Park for 2 days sightseeing.
- Back to Kathmandu, enjoy your free day.
- Transfer to Airport from hotel for onward journey
