Volunteer in Rural Medical Clinics in Philippines

Medical-Healthcare Volunteer work in Philippines Volunteers working in the medical volunteer project work in rural medical clinics outside Tacloban city. These medical clinics serve as the only source of free medical care for disadvantaged and poor communities living outside Tacloban.

Majority of the clinics and medical centers are understaffed and have limited resources. Volunteer support is very essential for the effective functioning of these clinics.

Medical volunteers can provide a great deal of assistance to the clinics as most of them are understaffed and the medical staff is overburdened with lot of work at their disposal.

Volunteering in the medical project is also a good opportunity for medical students who will get to observe the medical system and practices in a developing Asian country as well as provide valuable assistance and support.

Volunteer tasks and responsibilities are varied and depend on volunteer qualifications and experience level as well. Volunteers generally assist the doctors and nurses in their work and perform tasks such as taking vital signs, cleaning and suturing wounds, recording medical history and observing minor surgeries.

By volunteering in this project you will be able to make tremendous contribution to the project as well as learn about the health care conditions in a developing country such as Philippines.
