Volunteers will work in an orphanage assisting children with various activities including games, sports, teaching, hygiene & education. You will also assist the local staff with helping them in administration work where possible. You can get involved in art & craft and organizing short trips to local destinations with the children. Orphans are deprived of many opportunities necessary for their development. Your little help at an orphanage can be of great significance for these children, helping to make their present secure and future promising. Spend time with them. Receive their warmth and affection. Tell them stories. Share their dreams. Working in an orphanage is a truly fulfilling and enriching experience.
Once you get involved you will not want to leave as the kids give so much love and affection to you. You would also be assisting local orphanage staff in daily work to help them run the place in a more efficient manner.
Program Information
Your Role in the Program.
Volunteer working in the Orphanage program in Sri Lanka would work 4-5 hours 5 days a week, to help children in cleaning, teaching, playing games and sports while also helping the local staff in taking care of the orphanage itself .
Skills and Educational Requirements.
There is no educational requirement for this project; anyone with a heart to help is welcome on this project! However proficiency in English is required. People should be patient,
committed and willing to learn.
Project Location.
The project is located in Galle and Kosgoda in southern part of Sri Lanka .
Galle is one of the most popular tourist areas of Sri lanka .It is the main town in the most southerly part of the island.
It is one of the best examples of a fortified city built by Europeans in south and southeast Asia, showing the interaction between European architectural styles and south Asian traditions.Galle fort is a world heritage site and the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers.

What we provide
Airport Receive/ Transfer: Our representative will greet you at the airport and will transfer you to your hotel/placement/home stay.
Orientation: A half day orientation will be provided by our staff. We cover areas like, culture, greetings, locations, transportation etc.
Lodging: Volunteers will be staying with a local welcoming and educated host family.
Food: 3 Local meals will be provided in this project.
Insurance: All participants are covered for full comprehensive travel and medical insurance for their time of stay in our project.
In – Country travel assistance: If participants like to travel around, we provide with full support for bookings & arrangements to travel within Sri Lanka
In-country support: 24 hours support provided by our local staff.
Pre-departure information: After we receive full and final payment all participants are provided by a pre-departure information booklet by e-mail which will have all vital information about your program.
