Did you enjoy working at your project / placement?
Yes I enjoyed working at my project very much. It was very meaningful to my personal and professional life.
Accommodation and meals
I could not ask for a better host family than Elizabeth and her two kids. She really took us in as her own family and were very warm, loving and welcoming. She made me feel at ease and comfortable right away. The meals were excellent. The experience of staying with them was so remarkable that I will definitely come back to visit them one day and I've considered them as my own family as well.
What was the highlight of your volunteering experience and your trip?
I can say that the highlight of my volunteering experience was working with the elders with no families . I learned from the doctor that I worked with some new things that I never even do here in the US as a healthcare professional. I actually worked as the doctor's assistant. The highlight of my trip overall was all the amazement I felt going to all the Inca ruins and learning a but about the Inca culture. There was so much spirituality I gained from the whole experience. I also felt like I have gained a new family. Elizabeth and her two children (my host family) made me feel belong and most welcomed there

How did you find the pre departure booklet given to you and the service of the staff in regards to answering your questions and helping you prepare?
The staff and booklet were very helpful and enabled me to know what to expect and what to bring.
Did you enjoy working at your project / placement?
Very much. The kids were very fun and willing to learn. The educator also makes my stay very enjoyable and had good plans for lessons. Overall thorougly enjoyed seeing the non-tourist side of cusco.
Accommodation and meals
Also great!
I got along really well with my family and they made me feel part of it. The meals were also fantastic and I truly enjoyed entry traditional food.
What was the highlight of your volunteering experience and your trip?
I think that volunteers are needed for 2 reasons; it is exciting for the kids and can spur them on. Also it gives a break for the normal educators to relax a little. It can help as well to educate the kids about the world and about another country, with the kids I taught English (older ones), maths and to read in Spanish to those who couldnīt. I would recommend volunteers to be very creative, tolerant and open-minded.
