Almost 60 % of India’s population depends on agriculture and its allied activities for their livelihood. Sustained and equitable growth in agriculture is, therefore vital for food security and sustained development for various regions in the country. Efforts are on by various NGO’s to facilitate and foster participatory approaches and partnerships among the farmers to generate and spread land use practices and policies that will contribute to ecologically sustainable agriculture and growth of environment.
Volunteering Solutions provides you the unique opportunity of having placement with our partner organizations engaged in achieving the goals of sustainable agriculture and environment through productivity growth promoting, resource conserving and environment friendly practices, technologies and policies. Our volunteers in this project would work with agricultural scientists of national and international repute working closely with farming community in the rural areas. They can also help in the offices of these NGO’s. They would be staying with a host family in urban or rural area. Some background of education in agricultural sciences would be an added advantage.

Volunteer’s life on the field
Once you get over the initial culture shock of coming and working in India, you will realize that helping the orphans/women will give you immense satisfaction and you will view life with a different perspective. A typical volunteer helping in an orphanage would help the children with their day to day activities such as: doing homework, making notes, playing with children, helping staff organize the orphanage, providing mental and physiological support, exchanging cultural views, teach them about health and hygiene.

Educational Requirement
There is no educational requirement for this project; anyone with a heart to help is welcome on this project! However proficiency in English is required.
What we provide
Airport Receive/ Transfer: Our representative will greet you at the airport and will transfer you to your hotel/placement/home stay.
Orientation: A half day orientation will be
provided by our staff. We cover areas like, culture,
greetings, locations, transportation etc. Each participant
will be provided with a local Map of the city or
Start your volunteering experience by taking the 1 week language & culture orientation
week in Delhi
Lodging: Almost all placements have residential accommodation arrangements, however if that is not available volunteers will be staying with a local welcoming and educated family.
Food: 2 Indian meals will be provided in this project.
Insurance: All participants are covered for full comprehensive travel and medical insurance for their time of stay in our project. Please find details here.
In – Country travel assistance: If participants like to travel around, we provide with full support for bookings & arrangements to travel with India or Nepal.
Language Books: We provide participants with English to Hindi language handbooks.
In-country support: 24 hours support provided by our local staff.
Pre-departure information: After we receive full and final payment all participants are provided by a pre-departure information booklet by e-mail which will have all vital information about your program.
