I have just returned from my trip to Tamale, Ghana. I stayed there for 10 weeks, taking part as a nurse in the medical healthcare program and also collaborating in the school.
It has been an amazing experience, Ghanaian people are very nice and friendly, they love to be with foreigners and to show their culture. Both people from the hospital and the school were very kind and grateful and it was very easy to establish relationships with them. In fact, I still keep in touch with most of them.
I am very grateful about the treatment of the host family, they were very nice and they took care of me at every moment.
It has been the best experience and adventure I have ever had and I have learned a lot.
I highly recommend everyone to volunteer some time in their life. I have been able to prove that you are happier when you forget yourself and help and think about others.
