Overview

Overview

If you are pursuing Journalism or Media Studies, and wish to gain international work experience, then there can be nothing better than this internship in Thailand. Being an intern for this program, you will work alongside Thai staff in different departments in the publishing house.

We place qualified applicants in internship positions with Northern Thailand’s most successful English-language entertainment magazine. It’s released once a month and includes everything from announcements concerning local events to in-depth features relevant to the whole of Southeast Asia.

The focus of this project is not only to gain experience but also to contribute to the magazine. A brief orientation and tour of the organization will be given to new interns and guided by the professionals so that they get accustomed to the work environment and be at ease while working.

The internship project requires a minimum time commitment of 4 weeks. The staff at the media house consists of both Thai nationals as well as westerners. Most of the Thai staff is also able to communicate in English pretty well.

Program Requirements

Program Requirements

?Interns must be 18 years or older at the time of joining the internship. As an intern, you should have an open mind and flexible attitude for working in a new and different environment. All interns must provide additional documents such as a clean criminal background check report, Resume/CV, copy of your editorial work or published work, copy of writing samples (if available), statement of motivation and passport copy prior to joining the program.

Intern Roles & Responsibilities

Intern Roles & Responsibilities

Interns are allocated different tasks depending on the needs at the office. You can be assigned roles in any of the following areas:

  • Editorial
  • Multimedia Design
  • Print Media Designing
  • Marketing

Due to the deadline-oriented nature of the magazine’s work, only highly motivated, fluent English speakers will be considered for this project. Furthermore, you’ll be expected to have a working understanding of the specific area to which you’re applying.

Only one intern will be accepted into each position at a time, but there’s a potential for the crossover when availability and the intern’s background permit. The magazine is helmed by an open-minded managing editor with an eye for talent.

If you’re an ambitious self-starter, you stand to glean a great deal from this project and may even have the opportunity to spearhead your own project. Interns who deliver high-quality, engaging material also has the potential to be published.
