Medical Volunteering projects in Thailand, Surin are an ideal way for both students and qualified medical professionals to learn about and participate in (depending on your skills) rural healthcare practices in Thailand. Throughout the placement, all volunteers are supported by a member of the local Thai Health Authority and member of our in-country support team who will help with translations.
Our volunteers provide support to the rural communities of Surin by working alongside local healthcare professionals in their on-going care and treatment of the community. Activities take place both in the local clinics (much like a GP in the UK) and also in the field with regular home visits and checks for the community. Although healthcare provision has improved enormously in recent years in Thailand, there are still many communities who haven’t as yet been able to take advantage of this and small rural clinics are their only resource.
This is a unique medical volunteering opportunity in Thailand, to make a large and lasting difference whilst observing the working conditions of health care professionals in developing countries. Experience traditional rural Thai life, and explore the breath-taking beauty of Thailand. Being a volunteer on this project will not only help immensely in improving career prospects for medical students and practitioners but also will provide a first-hand perspective of medical challenges and solutions in Thailand.
