Childcare Volunteering in Vietnam

Trip Highlights

  • Volunteer at local childcare centres to spend time with kids, teach them and engage them in different activities 
  • Assist local staff in day-to-day activities (such as preparing meals for kids, upkeep of the center and taking care of kids) 
  • Volunteer work in and around Ho Chi Minh city and work with kids affected by the aftermath of ‘Agent Orange’ 
  • Placements have around 75-100 children in the centers and there’s ample scope for each volunteer to help out 
  • Volunteers work on weekdays, 5-6 hours a day. Weekends can be utilized to travel around in the city 
  • Ideal opportunity for solo travelers, gap year travelers and families to volunteer in a safe and rewarding project 

Overview

Volunteers working in the Childcare Program, work mainly in childcare & disabled care centers in Ho Chi Minh City. Volunteers work in institutions which provide care and attention especially to the children who are affected by Agent Orange. 

Volunteer’s main work at the projects is to take care of the children, most of whom have mental and physical disabilities. You can help to feed, change, walk and play with the children and try to use the time to have constructive fun with the children. Volunteers can also entertain the children by playing games with them and teaching them in a play way method.
