As you arrive, we shall greet you at Kochi International Airport and transfer you to the volunteer house. Pickup timings are between 6 am to 10.30 pm.
After a scenic drive through lush green terrain and crossing the creeks, you will reach the volunteer house located in the serene Fort Kochi area. After getting refreshed and taking some rest, you can take a stroll around the volunteer house.
After breakfast, we will give you a detailed information about the locality, area, facilities, transport, places of interest, restaurants, recreation and placement.
This orientation session will be very useful for you during your stay. Later in the afternoon, we will take you for a tour of the Fort Kochi area. This will be a combination of a walking tour as well as a tuk-tuk ride, one of the most convenient and economical mode of transport in Fort Kochi.
Your volunteer work will begin on Tuesday. Our program coordinator will accompany you from volunteer house to the program location on the first day to make you familiar with the mode of traveling. Our program coordinator will introduce you to the local people at the project site and also will show you restaurants, shops, ATM, pharmacy etc. near the placement location. During lunchtime, you can go to any nearby restaurant for lunch (at own cost).
On Saturday, after breakfast at around 8 am, we will take you to Munnar, one of the most sought after hill retreats in Kerala. You will reach Munnar by 12 noon and after checking in the hotel, you can have lunch at the hotel (at your own cost).
Later, we will take you for a tour of Munnar. We will take you for dinner in a local restaurant where you can enjoy the authentic Malayali cuisine.
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we will take you for seeing the places of tourist interest in Munnar.
Later in the day, we’ll check out from the hotel and head towards Alleppey. You can absorb the essence of Kerala on your way to Alleppey.
Check in at the accommodation in Alleppey, enjoy your dinner and relax.
At 6.30 am, you will go for a backwater cruise. Feel the serenity of the backwaters and experience the sight of the beautiful flora and fauna and various birds in the backwaters. You will also have a chance to disembark on a small island and you can enjoy local snacks and beverages. Return back to your hotel for breakfast.
You will continue your volunteering work and gain the rewarding experience.
You will also have an authentic Ayurvedic massage at Ayurveda Center, once during the program. This will be very refreshing and relaxing for you.
This day is free to relax and to do shopping. You can contact our program coordinator if you would like to arrange for airport drop at an additional cost.
