What do our past volunteers say?

“I spent a month volunteering in Kenya in the childcare programme. I am very grateful to have come to this place, I’ll take the best memories of the children and their smiling faces. I got a lot of appreciation from the women who run the project and that’s priceless. No doubt a part of me will stay back in this place. What an unforgettable experience!” Coti Visintini, Childcare Programme Kenya

“Volunteering with children in Cusco was an amazing experience. The kids were incredibly sweet, full of joy and affection, and their smiles made every moment unforgettable. I stayed with a wonderful host family who made me feel like one of their own. The accommodation was comfortable, with a beautiful panoramic view, and the food, cooked by Cintia, was absolutely delicious. Their kindness and hospitality made my time in Cusco even more special. Cintia was especially kind and always ready to help with much tips, making me feel at home from the very first day. Rachele was also helpful and took the time to show me how to get around Cusco, giving me clear directions and great advices. This experience taught me so much about empathy, gratitude, and cultural exchange. The kindness of the Peruvian people and the breathtaking beauty of the landscapes made this journey truly unforgettable. I will always carry the memories of Cusco and its wonderful people in my heart..” Rossella C, Childcare Programme in Cusco – Peru

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

What is childcare volunteering abroad?
Childcare volunteering abroad means supporting children at community-led centres, daycares or childcare centres in countries across Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America. As a certified B Corporation, we run ethical placements where you help with daily care, play, learning and basic wellbeing under local staff guidance.
Who can volunteer in childcare projects?
Volunteers are generally 17 or older, with younger participants welcome on selected family and high-school programmes. No formal qualifications are needed, just patience, energy and genuine care for children. A positive, reliable attitude matters most for these placements.
What will I do as a childcare volunteer?
You might assist with feeding, hygiene and play, run simple learning or art activities, and offer attention and encouragement to children. Day-to-day tasks depend on the centre and are always set by the local team who lead each community project.
How much does childcare volunteering cost and how long does it last?
Programmes run from 1 to 24 weeks, with fees starting from around US£213 per week on the most affordable options. Fees typically cover accommodation, meals, airport pickup and in-country support; flights, insurance and visas are extra. Check the programme pages for current pricing.
Are childcare placements ethical and good for the children?
Yes. Our childcare projects are community-led and designed to support, not replace, local caregivers, putting children's wellbeing first. As a certified B Corporation we follow ethical safeguarding practices, and you receive orientation on arrival plus 24/7 support from our in-country teams.
