What to Expect
Upon arrival in Tacloban, you’ll be welcomed by the Volunteering Solutions team, who will guide you through the orientation process. During orientation, you’ll learn about the programme structure, cultural norms and safety protocols. After this, you'll begin your volunteer work in the community, making a tangible impact each day.
You’ll stay in a volunteer house, sharing rooms with other volunteers. Meals are provided on weekdays, and you'll have plenty of free time to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of the Philippines. Our in-country coordinators are available 24/7 to provide support during your stay.
Immerse Yourself in Filipino Culture
With over 7,000 islands, the Philippines offers plenty to explore. During weekends, you can visit local landmarks like San Juanico Bridge, Santo Niño Shrine and MacArthur Landing Memorial Park. If you're up for a little adventure, take a day trip to Lake Danao for kayaking or swimming in its calm waters.
For history buffs, explore the Santo Niño Shrine and Heritage Museum in Tacloban City, which showcases antiques and artworks from around the world. If you're seeking nature and adrenaline, trek to Masaba Falls, a beautiful seven-tiered waterfall accessible via river trekking.
