At Volunteering solutions we have journalism internship programs for volunteers professional and student journalist who want to have a practical experience of their profession in Ghana. This program is developed for both the print and electronic media and volunteers can chose from either of the two. The print media includes placement as a columnist in a news paper, or a reporter covering stories for a news paper. Our electronic media program consists of placement as a new caster on a local FM station, a reporter with an FM station or a program host. We also have opportunity for you to attach yourself to a local TV station where you could help as cameraman, an assistant producer, a program host or just an aid to any job area within the TV and film industry.

ELECTRONIC MEDIA INTERSHIP PROGRAM

Fm Radio program

Radio internship allows you to work with as volunteer with a commercial local fm radio station in Kumasi and Tamale. As an intern you will get to experience a variety of roles at the station, including reading news on the air, researching news stories, interviewing newsmakers, producing segments, writing copy for the air, and attending press conferences .There are five radio stations in tamale where the bulk of our activities are concentrated and you would be welcomed as a volunteer with any of these stations. These internships are designed for journalism students and professionals to gain firsthand experience in journalism in Ghana. Volunteers in these programs will be required to submit their CVs for placement.

Television
Ghana is a democratic state with fairly great tolerance for the media. Been dubbed the forth estate of the realm. There are almost five private owned television stations in the two major cities; Kumai and Accra. With great tolerance for democratic processes such as freedom of expression, you will be allowed for internship with any of this TV stations. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking for on-air experience as a presenter or field reporter. Your duties will include researching stories, conducting interviews for broadcast, covering news conferences and human interest stories, assisting in technical production.

Print media - Newspaper
if you are a practicing or student journalist with interest in the print media, this will be an opportunity try your hands on your profession in a democratic country noted for its freedom of information. There just so many privately-owned news paper organizations in Accra.
These organizations will welcome you as a volunteer where your   duties will include writing news stories and feature articles, proofreading colleagues' work for publication, researching background material, editing stories, conducting interviews in the field, and attending news events in diverse areas like politics, sports, human rights, and medicine.
