Program Details

As part of the 2 Week Special Program, volunteers will primarily be placed in kindergarten and teaching projects within local community schools in Accra. You will work with young children in nursery and primary classes, supporting their early education and development.

Many of these schools face challenges such as limited resources, overcrowded classrooms, and staff shortages. Volunteers play an important role by assisting teachers and providing extra attention to students, helping create a more engaging and supportive learning environment.

Your responsibilities may include assisting with basic subjects like English and Maths, helping with reading and writing activities, organizing games and creative learning sessions, and supporting daily classroom routines. Volunteers can also contribute by introducing new ideas, interactive teaching methods, and even leading small group activities depending on their confidence and experience.

School hours typically end around 2:30–3:00 pm, after which volunteers can choose to stay and help children with homework or engage them in informal activities and play.

Note: Volunteers who are interested in sports also have the option to participate in a Football Coaching placement, working with local youth teams to support training, mentorship, and skill development.
