What to Expect When You Volunteer in Kenya

Accommodation:
Volunteers stay in a shared volunteer house in Nairobi with fellow participants. Rooms are basic but comfortable, with access to clean water, electricity and common areas.

Meals:
Two to three meals are provided each day. Enjoy local Kenyan dishes such as ugali, chapati, sukuma wiki and nyama choma, with vegetarian options available.

Work:
Volunteer hours are generally Monday to Friday, with weekends free to explore. Depending on your project, tasks may include classroom support, childcare activities, health awareness sessions or administrative help.

In the outskirts of Nairobi, there’s David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where you can spend a whole day, playing with little elephants and feeding them.
