The Volunteering Solutions Grant — £1,000 Volunteer Abroad Funding

Each calendar year we award one grant of £1,000 toward the programme fees of any Volunteering Solutions programme — 118+ volunteer and internship placements across 23 countries, in healthcare, education, wildlife and marine conservation, childcare and community development.

Who can apply

Anyone aged 18 or over who is enrolled at a university or college anywhere in the world, or within two years of graduating. Any subject. You do not need any previous volunteering experience.

What the grant covers

Up to £1,000 applied directly to your programme fees — enough to cover many of our shorter placements in full. Programme fees include accommodation, meals, airport pickup, orientation and 24/7 support from our in-country teams. The grant does not cover flights, visas, insurance or vaccinations, and it is not paid as cash.

How to apply

Email info@volunteeringsolutions.com with the subject line “Volunteering Solutions Grant application”, including:

• Your full name, university or college, and course
• The programme you would like to join and your preferred dates
• A statement of up to 300 words: what you would bring to the project, and what you hope to learn

Timeline and selection

Applications close on 31 May each year and the winner is announced by 30 June. The grant can be used for departures within the following 12 months. Applications are judged by our team on the strength and sincerity of the statement and the feasibility of the plan. One award is made per year and the decision is final. The winner agrees to be named on this page (first name and university).

• Not transferable and not redeemable as cash; excludes flights, visas, insurance and vaccinations
• Application details are used only to administer the grant
