When is the best time to volunteer in Philippines?
December-May is the drier season and the easiest time to travel; June-November is wetter with a typhoon season that our in-country team monitors closely and plans around. Programs run year-round.
Visas and getting there
Most nationalities enter the Philippines visa-free for 30 days, extendable in-country. We confirm the specifics for your stay length after you apply. Airport pickup is included in every program, and your in-country coordinator confirms arrival details before you fly.
Weekends and travel
San Juanico Bridge and island-hopping from Tacloban, the beaches of Leyte and Samar, and for a bigger weekend: Cebu’s waterfalls and whale sharks or Bohol’s Chocolate Hills, both a short hop away.
Is it safe, and who can join?
Volunteers live in vetted accommodation with a coordinator on call around the clock, and every placement operates under our safeguarding policy. The minimum age is 17 for most placements with no upper limit — students, career-breakers, families and retirees all join our Philippines programs.
