The placement, its limits and your part in it
The placement is a socio-educational center in Cordoba coordinated through Volunteering Solutions' local partner team, which manages the hostel accommodation and daily project logistics. The center runs social, artistic, and educational workshops for children and teenagers, and volunteers are placed into these workshops and classroom activities alongside local teachers and staff who direct the work.
Because the placement involves children, a criminal background check is required before you start, and you work under the supervision of the center's teachers at all times rather than leading classes independently. Airport Transfers
We will pick you up upon arrival; our transfer service will be waiting for you with a sign with your name. It is very important that you send us your flight information beforehand. It takes about 40 minutes to get from the airport to the accommodation. Please bear in mind that the transfer back to the airport is not included, you will need to take a taxi or a bus when you finish your project.
Accommodation and Meals
Our local partner team in Cordoba manages two hostel accommodations which are located in strategically important points of the city; near business areas, shopping centers, theaters, cinemas, bars and restaurants. Our guests will be able to enjoy their independence, and at the same time, get to know friends from all over the world. The best choice if you want to share time with students of different countries and diverse cultures; you will be able to enjoy the independence that you need, and at the same time, getting to know friends from all over the world. The hostel is fully equipped, hot shower, TV and Wi-Fi access available. We do not offer meals; you will have a fully equipped kitchen to cook or a cheap restaurant or a bar to buy food nearby. Supermarkets are open from 8 am to 10 pm.
Weather
Depending on the time of the year Cordoba could be very hot or very cold. The temperature during summer varies from 29°C to 40°C o and the temperature in winters varies from 2°C degrees to 15°C or 18°C. Sometimes you wrongly assume that Latin America is always hot, but this is not true for Argentina. It can be really cold in winter especially for projects that are located in the middle of the mountains.
