Be a part of disabled care volunteering program in peru to work in a school for mentally challenged and deaf students. There are students from the age group of 3 to 20 years. The project is located in an urban area of Cusco. Working with those children will make you realize how valuable your role can be, in their lives.
The school placement has different sections depending on the level of disabilities of the students. There are separate classes for deaf students, a kindergarten, primary section, Division Multiple Complex Behaviors and Practical Training. Volunteers in this program work as class assistants of different classes supporting the teachers in different activities during the mornings. We suggest volunteers to prepare lessons in advance that include indoor games, art & craft activities to help students in their learning process.
Volunteers having License of Psychologist or Therapist can work directly with the Psychologists in the school, rotating in different classrooms.
The same volunteer work schedule continues from the second week onwards.
Note: Please note, the schedule may vary depending on the particular project the volunteer is participating in.
