Overview

Volunteering Solutions provides Volunteer Teaching Programs in Thailand with some of the friendliest and welcoming children you will ever meet. As a volunteer teacher, you will have the opportunity to teach in local primary/elementary schools and occasionally local secondary/high schools.

People who are on a gap year, studying, or looking for an alternative holiday you can make a real difference as a volunteer teacher abroad. The majority of our volunteers work in primary schools teaching children aged between 6 and 12 years old. Volunteer teaching in Thailand will be going to be a challenging role but the rewards are clear – not only are you genuinely helping the next generation of people in Surin but also you’ll gain a great insight into Thailand and its people. With the main emphasis for volunteers being on spoken English, you’ll spend your lessons creating all sorts of activities to increase your students' vocabulary and also begin to be able to communicate in English. Don’t expect to create fluent speakers in a few weeks but do remember that every lesson you deliver will help each student progress that little bit more! Past volunteers have left behind a number of teaching aids to help you with your lesson planning and our teams of coordinators are always available to offer advice and support

Volunteer teachers will give rural Thai children the opportunity to learn English with a native speaker. Competence in English opens so many more doors later in their lives. With tourism being the Number 1 industry in Thailand many of the large hotel and tour operators demand a certain level of written and spoken English. All international companies which operate in Thailand expect the same. By learning and discovering English these children have their first step on a real ladder to success.
